This year Electrostal celebrates 75th anniversary This year Electrostal celebrates 75th anniversary. That’s why I decided to upgrade town’s map by creating some new symbols of culture and leisure facilities of my town. I am sure that these signs will help people find main places of interest very quickly.

Horse riding and training The sports complex “Avangard” (Fryasevskoe highway, stadium “Avangard”) There are: a sports hall 2 volleyball courts 3 football pitches a beautiful pond with beaches gazebos for relaxing with barbecues Paintball Horse riding and training Playgrounds, fort, fortified forest, urban playing field, archery range, locker rooms, showers, sauna. The sports center “Kristall” (3, radio street) • ice hockey • stadium “Krystall" • 2 volleyball courts • basketball court • football pitches • 2 hockey pitches • 2 tennis courts The pride of the town - the hockey club, which was founded in 1949. It has performed in various championships and several times became the champion.

The swimming pool “kristall” (0/2, sportivnaya street) The main construction was begun in 1969. The swimming pool was opened 5 years later. All the standards for international competitions are sustained there, That’s why different competitions are held in “Kristall” every year. The pride of this swimming pool is a team in synchronized swimming. It has won some regional and country competitions. Korobova Darya took part in Summer Olympics 2012. Children and Youth Sports School has been opened in 1954.Children have an opportunity to swim, dive, do aerobics and fitness there.

The swimming pool “metallurg” (36, krasnaya street) A lot of years ago there was a football pitch on the spot of the swimming pool. Today it is a modern and well-equipped building. Some famous sportsmen were grown up there. Also you are able to take classes in aerobics and swimming.

The house of culture “octyabr’” (32a, Lenin street) In 1950 a beautiful square with a big building in the middle was created. It should have been built at the intersection of two main town’s streets: Lenin and Sovetskaya. Nowadays there is the house of culture “Octyabr’” which is a very important place in Electrostal. It started to work in 1963. A lot of concerts and performances have been held there.

The museum of history and art (30a, Nikolaev street) It was opened in 1999 (Director A.P.Pokrovskiy) There are: - museum exhibits from the collections of other museums to exchange          - exhibition from private collections          - exhibition of new acquisitions to the museum fund

The exhibition hall (38, Chernyshevskiy street) It was opened in 1972 (Director K.I.Gordienko.)   The exhibition hall works in aid of the historical museum. Here you can look at and even purchase some of the paintings and a variety of hand-made staff.   The most interesting thing - exhibition of works by artists of the city and not just the city. Also there are a lot of hand-made works: knitting, sewing, patchwork, panorama, etc. Sometimes you can visit here exhibitions of exotic animals or insects.

The center of culture and leisure (1-1a, zapadnaya street) The history of the center began from a fire. The house of culture “Stroitel’” burnt, so all stuff had to move to other building. Today there are a lot of clubs for people of different ages. Children are involved in dancing, singing and art. Adults are able to try to sing traditional songs. The most interesting thing is the club for veterans “The roads of victories”. Veterans gather to sing, talk or organize different event for students.

The park of culture (intersection of krasnaya and koreshkov streets) In the early ‘20s this park was just a glade in the forest where factory workers liked meeting. A bit later groomed tracks, nice branches and different buildings were set there. In some years the park became the most popular and favourite place among citizens. Nowadays the park of culture is full of trees and flowers. In summer a lot of attractions work. Also you can have a snack in one of small cafes there.

The cinema “sovremennik” (26a, tevosyan street) The first cinema in Electrostal was opened in 1972. Recently it was reconstructed and equipped. Citizens come there to watch premieres of Russian and foreign films.

The bowling center (KRASNAYa STREET) Some years ago a new place for entertainment was built. The bowling center has become very popular. Here you are able not only to play bowling but play billiards, sing karaoke or have dinner with your friends.
