•Make time for reading and hold your student accountable. “Students who read the most are the best at every part of school – reading, writing, researching, content-specific knowledge, all of it.” Stephen Krashen How families can help: •Make time for reading and hold your student accountable. •30 minutes a day for grades 3,4,5 •Read together. •Say “tell me about ...(what you’re reading, the character, plot, details etc.).” •Ask about the library books your child chose this week. Math Expressions Homework & Remembering workbook will be sent home as  a resource for families to use at their discretion

Volunteering Complete and return the Volunteer Application Form and Confidentiality Agreement to the front office or email tameka.wilds@apsva.us. After October 15, you will receive an email for a Safe School Training. Complete this training ASAP. Oakridge will notify when your application is complete and you can start volunteering. If you plan on being a chaperone on a field trip, you must complete the volunteer training. Questions or need help?
