YHBA Student Contest- Student Created Book Trailers Chris DeVries, Elaine Loftus, Samantha Warner, & Karen Webb 2016-2017

Submission Requirements Indiana students in the appropriate YHBA grade category (Picture Book--Gr. K-3, Intermediate--Gr. 4-6, Middle--Gr. 6-8) may submit ONE video per individual student. Adult Involvement: Student must have the support of a school staff or public librarian who will be responsible for submitting the video. Video length 30 seconds to 2 minutes- Videos that do not meet these time lengths will be disqualified. Submission deadline: April 15, 2017

submission Form Rules Forms must be submitted by a school or public library staff. Student gives first name ONLY (NOTE: The submission form should have the child’s first and last name. It is only on the video that a first name is shown.) Check off boxes include: Basic Release of Liability for all students videotaped and student creator Work is original, student created

Contest Limits Number of entries based on school size in increments of 500: 500 or less students- 1 entry 501-1,000 students- 2 entries 1,001- 1,500 students- 3 entries (1 video submission per student) (Rules apply to each YHBA level at the school.)

Copyright Guidelines The script and multimedia elements (images, sound clips, and videos) used should be original work. However, if pictures from the Internet are used, students are encouraged to use copyright-free images/sounds and are required to follow copyright rules. If copyrighted images are used or the copyright status is not known, the participants are required to properly credit/cite the elements used in the book trailer. Dedicated credit slides should list all the copyrighted material.
