Tips for Parents Call the Attendance Office to excuse absences. If your child will be absent for an extended period of time, you may request homework packets by contacting your child’s counselor at least 3 days in advance. Email is a great way to keep in contact with teachers 

More tips Finals Week The last week of every semester in December & May Please make sure your child attends and takes final exams. Finals exams are key to passing the semester!

Pre-AVID ALL freshmen take this semester-long elective course that prepares freshmen students for success in high school. Emphasis is on AVID strategies such as organization, analytical writing, study skills and test taking, note taking, and goal setting. character traits and critical thinking by virtue of the IB (International Baccalaureate) Learner Profile brief introduction to the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens so that success will become a characteristic of their daily performance
