6 Attendance Counts! Must attend at least 90% of a given class period to receive credit. Tardies will receive discipline action. You may not miss more that 9 days of any given class period. All absences, excused or unexcused, apply to the 90% attendance rule. An asterisk on your report card indicates you will not receive credit for the course due to excessive absences. See Mrs. Malina for attendance issues

Grade Point Average = GPA GPA is average of SEMESTER grades GPA ranks you among your classmates Weighting of classes increases GPA Pre-AP classes X 1.12 ACC classes X 1.15 AP classes X 1.17 Some classes are not included in GPA Cheerleading, Athletics, Courses taken prior to 9th grade, Pass/Fail courses, Credit Recovery, Local Credits *9th Grade is pivotal for setting a strong foundation for your GPA!

Transcript is cumulative 9th – 12th grade Take challenging and rigorous classes! It starts in 9th grade!

12 Prepare NOW for Success Later!
How To Be Successful Success Does NOT Happen By Chance. Prepare NOW for Success Later! Tutorials Monday – Friday 8:00a.m. – 8:35 a.m. After school by arrangement with teacher. Students required to attend tutorials will receive disciplinary referral for non-attendance ACE (west campus) Monday – Friday 4:15 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Must register with ACE first

13 ACC – Austin Community College Dual Credit Courses
NEW 9th graders are now eligible to take dual credit classes for high school and college credit FREE for 1 more year – Fall 2017 a new fee will be charged $150 per course FIRST they must pass the TSI – Texas Success Initiative (college readiness test-reading/writing) $20 fee They can sign up in the Counseling Office through Mar 1. They must sign up with the $20. Summer 2016: EDUC 1300 Strategies for College Success ARTS 1301 Intro to Visual Arts Fall 2016: EDUC 1300 Strategies for College Success Spring 2017: SPCH 1311 Speech or SPCH 1315 Public Speaking Off campus/online courses $150

14 Colorado River Collegiate Academy EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL
There are 15 available spots at CRCA. (west campus) FIRST COME FIRST SERVE Students take ACC dual credit courses all through high school and can possibly receive an Associate’s Degree. The application is on the CRCA website. BISD>Schools>CRCA Must pass TSI test (reading/writing by May 20) Call Mr. Conrardy for questions. NEW
