**Homework – complete lesson 4** September 29, 2015 Learning Target: I will be able to measure the mass and volume of a sample of air and calculate it’s density. Entry Task: Read “Air Heads” on pages 46-50. Answer in journal: What is air? Agenda: Lesson 4 – Density of Air Procedures 2-4 Student Sheet 4.1 Reflecting Questions A-C **Homework – complete lesson 4** Online Book Lesson 4

Density of Air Procedures Measure the mass of the plastic bottle w/washer and valve. Record on data table Use the washer, valve, and pump to remove air from bottle Measure the mass of the bottle without air. Subtract the starting mass from the ending mass Use the graduated cylinder to measure the amount of water it takes to fill the bottle = volume. Record on data table Divide mass by volume to calculate the density of the air removed.
