Beanstalk & Sunflower topic planner for Summer term (2nd half): ‘All creatures great and small’’ Literacy Maths Our school values for this half of the term is Honesty. Story telling and role-play. Daily sharing of stories and poems. Writing name, labels, captions, lists, sentences and stories. Reading books including stories, non-fiction and poetry. Daily phonics: Phase 3 and 4 sounds. Counting in 1s, 2s and 10s. Number recognition and ordering. 1 more than and 1 less than. Addition and subtraction, doubling and halving and number problems. Naming and talking about the properties of 2-d and 3-d shapes. Size, length, weight, capacity and time. Personal, Social and Emotional Communication and Language Physical Development Listening to others and speaking clearly to answer. Giving reasons for our thinking, and linking ideas Sharing news and retelling stories. P4C (Philosophy for children) Self-care skills: independent dressing. Keeping safe inside the classroom and outside. Moving in different ways. Fine motor skills: handwriting, painting, making and cutting. Throwing and catching skills. Following rules and routines. Developing listening skills and concentration. Understanding our own and others’ feelings. Courage – Facing new challenges and moving into the next year group.
