What is A-G Requirement? The A-G Requirements is a labeling system by UCs & CSUs They are categorized into subjects History/social science, English, Mathematics, Laboratory Science, Language other than English, Visual and performing arts, College-preparatory electives.
A-G Requirements Each subject has a specific number of years that is required & recommended for CSU/UC application Must have a grade of C or better in each class

Honors or AP Courses Calculating GPA Grade A B C D F Regular 4 3 2 1 H/AP 5 How to calculate your GPA: List all your classes & grades for each, translate into the points, add them all then divide by the number of classes OR Check POWERSCHOOL *** Note that the H/AP courses give you a higher GPA than regular classes*** *Also, if you take AP Exam, you may earn college credit before even starting college.

Ds WHAT DOES A ‘D’ MEAN? AT RISK OF EARNING AN F In the middle of C or F Still have an opportunity to not fail by hard work Need to have better study habits (actually study!) Turn in ALL assignments COMPLETED!! D on final report card means.. High school credit NOT accepted by colleges
Fs FAILING WHAT DOES FAILING A CLASS REALLY MEAN? No High school credit Each class earns you 5 credits, Fs=0 credits If not enough credits, cant move next grade or graduate Summer School (retaking same class) Lowers your GPA At risk of not going to college
