Preliminary configuration study TL1 IT-4189: Drawing 1 sub-assemblies of TL1 and room temperature piping shall not exceed: 1.9 m × 2.2 m × 12 m (width × height × length); TL1: 3x DN20 + 1x DN40 process pipes + shield; No bellows on cryogenic process pipes; Thermal contraction taken by flexible hoses located in one point; Vacuum barriers preferably in transfer line. thermal compensation boxes

Preliminary configuration study VB1 IT-4189: Drawing 5 3 cryogenic valves, thermal shield, 2 cryogenic interfaces; Phase separator + heat exchanger, heater and instrumentation; safety valves, PTs, TTs 5 kW electrical heater; Maximum diameter: 1200 mm; Maximum height incl. valves: 2050 mm; Purge panel: 200 × 1000 mm; Supports as indicated. Exact position of interfaces will be provided after contract award.

Preliminary configuration study VB2 IT-4189: Drawing 6 7 cryogenic valves, thermal shield, 3 cryogenic interfaces; Phase separator, heater, instrumentation; Safety valves, PTs, TTs; Maximum diameter: 1200 mm; Maximum height incl. valves: 2150 mm; Maximum height for dismounting valves: 2985 mm; Instrumentation panel: 200 × 1000 mm; Exact position of interfaces will be provided after contract award.

Installation at the CERN site CERN will provide: Helium, argon and nitrogen required for installation at CERN; Transport and handling of the supply on the CERN site; Site services such as electricity and compressed air required for installation at CERN; Space for a barrack at the surface for storage of materials and tooling; Scaffolding (not for hoisting purposes); The contractor shall provide: All tools and materials required for the proper execution of the contract; Hoisting equipment for installation of the transfer line; The vacuum pumps and leak detectors required for pressure and leak testing; X-rays (100% on cryogenic process pipes!); All personal protective equipment for its personnel (i.e. helmets, goggles, shoes, self-rescue masks) The contractor shall reserve two working days for the required training and access formalities of its personnel at CERN.

Delivery schedule 1/2 Cryo distribution Phase 1: Transfer line TL1 and room temperature piping Shall be installed during the Extended Year-End Technical Stop (EYETS) early 2017 Phase 2: The two valve boxes VB1 and VB2 Shall be installed during the Year-End Technical Stop (YETS) early 2018
