1 FCC Tunnel and Shaft Cross Sections
Fani Valchkova-Georgieva (EN/INT) 07/03/2017

2 Requirements for Network location in the Tunnel
Transmission network In a dedicated space MV distribution networks (18/24 kV) In 2 dedicated cable trays LV distribution networks (400 V) In 2 dedicated cable trays near the machine Signal/control cabling In 1 cable tray near the machine Optic fibers 07/03/2017

3 Cryo –equipment requirement in the Tunnel
Warm piping in tunnel Pipe Diameter [mm] Location HRL Helium ring line 100 No specific requirement WRL Warm recovery line 250 Connection with QRL every 100 m 07/03/2017

12 Cooling and Ventilation equipments in the Shaft
Ducts in all points: 2 ducts DN1600 – machine area 2 ducts DN1300 – safe tunnel 2 ducts DN 2000 – underground cavern/UAs 1 duct DN1200 – pressurization shaft and lift cage – to be confirmed according to the layout of the concrete module. In case of inclined tunnel, dimensions shall probably change substantially In  points A, C, E, G, I, K 2 ducts DN 1200 emergency extraction from tunnel Points D and J We assume that the dump zone and collimation area can be ventilated with air taken from the underground cavern; if fresh air is mandatory, 2 additional ducts shall be needed. Pipes In all points: 2 pipes DN200 - primary water cooling (in some points it will be smaller but, for the time being we stick to DN200) NB: in case there will be alcoves every 1 km in the tunnel, the diameter shall become DN300 2 pipes DN200 + lagging 40 mm all around – chilled water / this is for ventilation purposes, at present no request for chilled water is made 1 pipe DN fire fighting 1 pipe DN200 – make up water 1 pipe DN80 – compressed air 1 pipe DN80 – demineralized water make up 1 pipe DN100 – waste water (very rough estimate) 1 pipe DN200 – clear water drain (very rough estimate) In Points where Cryogenic plants are installed: 2 pipes DN150 Point B, L: 2 pipes DN200 – RF underground plant 07/03/2017
