In Grademark, in the student’s paper:

Find the icons on the bottom right

Select the second icon: View/edit a general comment for this entire paper

Turnitin allows for a 3 minute message.

A pop-up window will open asking for permission to use your computer camera and microphone.

Click the circle by the green check mark to allow.

You can also check the Remember box so you don’t see this pop-up again… then click Close.

You may also be asked by your browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, etc.) if you will allow access. Allow here as well.

Although it is asking for the use of the camera, Turnitin does not provide a visual picture, so no need to spruce up….

After permission is given, the recording will start immediately.

If you don’t start speaking, it will pause and you will see a message like this:

Or, this could mean trouble with your microphone.

Make sure it is plugged in and selected on your computer.

click on the pause button If you are not ready to record immediately, click on the pause button

by clicking on the trash can. To start fresh, you can delete what has been recorded by clicking on the trash can.

Track the length of your message here: You can tell it is working by watching the blue sound bar rise and fall.

When you are done or need to pause recording, click the pause button.

click on the microphone again. To continue recording, click on the microphone again.

as the student will hear the typing. You probably don’t want to type anything or add comments on the paper while recording, as the student will hear the typing.

When you are done, to stop recording, 1) either click on pause and then the blue box….

…or 2) just click on the blue box.

To listen to what you have recorded, click on the play button.

To start over, delete what has been recorded by clicking on the trash can.

To upload what you have recorded, click on the blue Save recording button.

And your recorded comment Turnitin will save it... And your recorded comment is ready to go...
