Sudan Food Security Sector Dashboard As of 22 June 2017 COUNTRY RESPONSE UPDATE Multi-year Humanitarian Strategic Objectives KEY FACTS & FIGURES FSL Sector Objectives Sudan faces different types of emergencies that require both immediate response and long-term approaches to address root causes of food and livelihoods insecurity through joint efforts by humanitarian and development actors. The adoption of a MYHS supports the tailoring of programmes that will integrate response, recovery and resilience building, aiming to improve lifesaving and services for affected people in a relatively stable context, livelihoods-restoring interventions in the form of ‘food for assets are provided. Additionally, agricultural and livestock production restoring and protecting interventions coupled with income-generating schemes are implemented. The sector focuses also on restoration of livelihoods and resilience-building livelihoods-restoring interventions in conjunction interventions such as safety nets and social with providing development pathways in protection-related transfers. SO3: Vulnerable residents in targeted areas have improved nutrition status and increased resilience.
