Welcome 1. Find the desk of your child 2. Use the index card on the desk to write: Your child’s name Your name Your email address Your telephone number 3. Read the letter your child wrote to you in their journal 4. Write a brief response in their journal 5. Walk around the room to look at their work 6. Stop at the back table to look at the Room 16 Wish List and to volunteer in our class and at Regnart 7. Start on the yellow Parent Input Form - this is due 9/14

Regnart’s Vision Statement We believe children learn best when: Their social development and academic growth occur simultaneously They are provided with interactive, hands-on learning situations They are presented with developmentally appropriate challenges They are offered choices They reflect on what and how they learned There is positive collaboration between home and school

Classroom Rules & Consequences The classroom rules were developed by the students. We have agreed on the posted behavior expectations. Discipline focuses on taking responsibility for actions. Consequences include: Citizenship Parent Notice Describe Problem Behavior Improvement Plan Loss of Recess Parent signature required

Homework Policy Homework assigned nightly Monday through Thursday Assignments are due the next day Students write down the assignments in their planners daily Homework is posted on my website by 6:00 p.m. Approximately 60 minutes per night (240 per week) Time to practice the learning we have done in class Parents should review planner and homework each night Late Homework form will be filled out if assignments are not complete. Parent signature required on late form. If your child is missing homework, they will be do the assignment during recess. Turning homework in on time is an important part of increased responsibilities in upper grades.
