Year 4 2016 Autumn Term Welcome to Year 4 ! Homework will be handed out on a Friday and can be brought back on Monday, Tuesday and no later than Wednesday please!

Literacy Numeracy Science Fiction – Stories set in imaginary worlds. Stories that raise issues. Non-Fiction – Recounts Explanation texts Poetry – Creating Images Place Value, ordering, rounding. Understanding + and -. Money and ‘real life’ problems. Making decisions and checking results. Handling Data. Using a calculator. Shape and space. Reasoning about shapes. Measures, including Mental and paper strategies for + and -. Understanding multiplication. Fractions. Decimals. All children will have their own coloured spelling sheet. When they are ready to be tested, they must write their name in the Class spelling book. Numeracy All children must try and change their reading books regularly. The children can place their finished books in the changing tray when they need a new book  Science Sound – Why is Pop music enjoyed by so many? How would you survive without water? In Year 4, children need learn all their times tables up to 12x12. They will be tested regularly.
