Objective: I will learn about how other teachers on campus can support my learning.

AVID Mentors You have all been assigned a teacher on campus to be your AVID mentor You will meet with this teacher a minimum of once a month You will do your last binder check of each month with your mentor instead of in class You must meet with your mentor for the first meeting by next Friday, Sept 15th You will GIVE THEM your info sheet and show them the binder grading guidelines on the back Have them FILL OUT and SIGN the half sheet and turn it in by Friday, 9/15 for 10 points

Graded papers Binder grade form IN IT’S SHEET PROTECTOR #9 - Tutorials from 8/30-31 GPA #1 – Section 4 (Goals) Shield Essay: - Section 3 (Essays) Shield – in the front of your portfolio – or just inside if you don’t have a clear pocket Final Draft of Essay – hole- punch and put in the essay section of your portfolio Grading rubric, outline/rough draft and editing form – recycle AVID Binder Portfolio

Substitute Expectations Block Day – Tutorials Judy and April or Esparanza will collect TRFs at the door – ONLY mark of they are late and pass them back – I will grade your pre-work later Same groups, same locations: Tutors: 5th hour: Group 1 – Miguel, Group 2 – Judy, Group 3 – Kim, Group 4 – April 6th hour: Group 1 – Sierra, Group 2 – Ms. Barry, Group 3 – Jesse, Group 4 - Esparanza If you have time after tutorials, you can work on homework, study, or organize your binders

Substitute Expectations Friday – Meet your sub, Mrs. Matsen in the hallway between the boys and girls locker rooms for roll call – do NOT go to our classroom After she takes roll, you will be watching our volleyball team in their tournament

Academic Contracts THIS WEEK IS WEEK 1 Since I will have a sub Friday, I will be checking Week 1 on Monday, 9/11 I will be checking for the following: Signature AND CURRENT GRADE from all teachers where your grade was a D or F Parent signature on the contract Parent signature IN YOUR AGENDA FOR THIS WEEK If your grades are up to a C or higher, you do not have to continue on to Week 2
