Assignments Due: Wed/Thu – TRFs DUE Wed/Thu – 7 Habits Project Presentations No binder check this week Today’s Agenda: Monday January 30, 2017 Warm-Up Marshmallow Test Activity Essential Question: How can I develop delayed gratification? Objective: I will reflect on my self-control and ability to delay gratification.

4 Project Requirements No group larger than 3 members
Your group presentation should take between 3-5 minutes Your project must cover each of the seven habits in some way Grading Based On: Possible Points Content Includes key concepts from each of the 7 habits 50 Presentation Group makes eye contact with audience Group presents project effectively Group speaks loudly and clearly 40 Participation of all Group Members 10 Total 100

5 7 Habits Project Presentations
All groups must be prepared to present their project after tutorials on the block day ALL members of your group must participate and have a roll in the presentation You should plan ahead of time WHAT you are going to say and WHO is going to say it – you WILL LOSE POINTS if you sound unprepared

6 Marshmallow test Grab a post-it note from the carts in the back
On your post-it notes, WITHOUT TALKING TO ANYONE, write down what you think Delayed Gratification means.

7 Marshmallow test Use your phone (or a neighbors) to find the definition of Delayed Gratification and write it down on your paper

8 Marshmallow Test a_says_don_t_eat_the_marshmallow_yet

9 Marshmallow Test Answer the second question on your handout “What were some of the strategies the children used to try to help them delay gratification?”

10 Marshmallow Test Answer the third question on your handout “What are the marshmallows in your life?” What are the goals you have in your life that you are willing to work hard to achieve?

12 Marshmallow Test Answer the fourth question on your handout “What stops you from being able to get “TWO marshmallows?” What are your distractions that interfere with you achieving your goals OR getting the work done on the way to accomplishing your goals?

13 Marshmallow Test Answer the fifth question on your handout “What are some tools or strategies you can use to help you delay gratification to make sure you get “TWO marshmallows” in your life?” What can you do to ensure you will not get distracted or get off track in making progress toward accomplishing your goals?
