Smoky Row Positive Behavior 2010-2011

Rocket Rules As a Smoky Row Rocket, I pledge to be Responsible, Respectful, and Ready to Learn. School Expectations Responsible Respectful Ready to Learn Classroom I have everything I need to be successful today. I follow classroom routines and directions. I am honest. I respect myself and others. I respect personal and classroom supplies and property. I look at and listen to my teacher. I always do my personal best. Hallways I walk in the hallway. I keep my hands and belongings to myself. I move quietly. My eyes are forward and on my teacher. Restrooms I keep the restroom clean. I wash and dry my hands. I respect others’ privacy. I respect restroom property. I use a whisper voice. I only go to the restroom when needed. Cafeteria I keep my feet under the table and my hands to myself. I eat only my food. I only take what I need for lunch. I use a soft voice. My voice is off in the quiet zone. I eat my lunch so I am ready to learn. Playground I play safely. I respect playground equipment. I am friendly, take turns and share. Bus I remain seated with my feet in front of me and my hands to myself. I only use respectful words. I listen to my bus driver. I am friendly to everyone on the bus.

Student Council Student Council reviews the Rocket Rules on the Tuesday morning announcements and gives examples to the whole school on ways to be Responsible, Respectful and Ready to Learn.

Quote “If a child doesn’t know how to read, we teach.” “If a child doesn’t know how to swim, we teach.” “If a child doesn’t know how to multiply, we teach.” “If a child doesn’t know how to drive, we teach.” “If a child doesn’t know how to behave, we………….. …………. Teach? ……………..punish? “Why can’t we finish the last sentence as automatically as we do the others?”

Being a good citizen means following the rules even if no one is looking You are responsible for your own behavior Be kind, be honest and be proud to be a Smoky Row Rocket!

When you have a substitute teacher Substitute teachers are there to help you learn It is your responsibility to follow ALL classroom rules, even if your teacher is absent Be respectful and kind

Step Up and Speak Up Be a friend, not a bully Administrators and the Student Services Coordinator went into every classroom to discuss how to keep bullying out of our school!

Every student and staff member at SRE signed the Step Up and Speak Up wall. The students and staff at Smoky Row pledged to keep bullying out of our school!

Step Up and Speak Up Wristbands After making the pledge, each student and teacher received the Stand Up and Speak Up wristband!

Smoky Row Postcard Every student at Smoky Row will get at least one postcard mailed to their home from a teacher or staff member during the school year with positive feedback. The postcard is read on the morning announcements and placed in the mail!
