Classroom Expectations RULES OF CONDUCT Students must be sitting silently in their seats when the tardy bell rings and must stay in their seats until the dismissal bell rings. Students must have all necessary materials with them and be prepared to learn and work collaboratively with others. Students must be respectful to other students and the teacher, and must avoid making unnecessary noise. Students must use an “indoor voice” in class, and avoid using profanity. Students must ask for permission to leave their seats when they’re working on individual assignments. Students must avoid eating food or gum in class, but may bring drinks. Students must do their best to succeed, and refrain from any activities that interfere with their own or someone else’s education (talking about outside activities, drawing, putting head down, etc.). Students must remain after class when instructed to do so. Extra Credit for cleaning once each calendar month for 10 points! A MAXIMUM OF 7 ABSENCES ALLOWED IN ORDER TO ENSURE SUCCESS!

Important Information -Students must follow all rules in order to ensure a positive, productive learning environment. They must also have a spiral with a pocket OR a section of a 3 ring binder for notes, handouts, and work. -Only 3 passes are allowed per semester in order to ensure that students use class time efficiently. Unused passes will be used as extra credit points. -Makeup work for full-credit will be given to students who have cleared absences, and must be turned in within 2 weeks. Late work for half-credit must also be turned in within 2 weeks. Check Schoology frequently! -5+ tardies or 3 truancies may result in a “U” in Work Habits and loss of EC Pass Points. In a foreign language, it’s essential to be present in class.

Classroom Instruction We will be using Oggi in Italia and covering approximately 3 or 4 chapters each semester. I am hoping that the students will be able to communicate in Italian in a way that enriches their lives and provides them with more social and career opportunities.

Grazie! Please feel free to contact me with any concerns. Email at LClassen@Lausd.net. You are also welcome to attend class if you feel that your child is not performing at the highest level!
