Essential Questions Why do I sometimes feel angry or sad for no reason? What’s the best way to communicate my thoughts and feelings? How can I be a better listener?

Emotions Emotions are feelings. Happiness, sadness, anger are emotions.

Hormones Hormones are chemicals that regulate body functions. Hormones also cause emotional shifts.

Expressing emotions Learned skill- Emotions are neither good nor bad The way you express or release your emotions is what matters. Life is 10 % of what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it….. Ex. It is natural to feel angry, but yelling at someone is not a good way to express anger….

Healthy ways to express emotions Talk to others to help understand feelings. Take advantage of alone time to think about your emotions. Create or do something to help you express feelings. Exercise…. Eat smart….hydrate…
