What is it like? Bowles is a unique venue where young people can be inspired.  They will be challenged yet safe, and cared for whilst having the independence.

Liddington Wiltshire Information Meeting

Kit list ALL ITEMS MUST BE NAMED Lots of layers Old/cheap clothes best (no expensive brands) Waterproofs (coat is a must & trousers if you have them) Casual disco clothes (no high heels or mini-skirts please) Wellington boots are not essential – but walking shoes/boots are (or old trainers suitable for mud) Helpful if children know what is in their bag!

Other things to bring… Water bottle (labelled) Black sack & carrier bags (labelled) Stamped and addressed envelope Pocket money (small change up to £10 - max £1.50 spent on sweets, rest for souvenirs) Medicines (labelled and handed in) Books, magazines, cuddly toy, card games No cameras, mobile phones or other electronic devices No sweets, snacks or other food needed!

Departure Day Children need to be at school by 9.00am Everyone comes to the hall Drop off pocket money Drop off medicines Put luggage in the meeting room Say goodbye to grown-ups (about 9.15ish) Morning in school (will be told activity groups, bedroom groups and more about the week) Normal lunch in school (packed lunch or hot dinner) Leaving after lunch Journey approximately 1 hour No food or fizzy drinks Labelled water bottle Pocket size game or book Travel sickness tablets

Accommodation Girls/Boys rooms (4 people) and en-suite bathroom (no drawers or wardrobes). Children get to suggest room mates. Daily Room inspection Dining Dining room Variety of food and a wide choice Dietary requirements

Activities Mixed groups of 12/13 with an adult (different children to those you are sharing a room with) Activities led by an activity leader Activities focus on a variety of skills and values: Team work Determination Courage Perseverance Excitement Fun!

In an emergency… You will be contacted by either Mrs Steele, Mr Hills or Mrs Hignett. If you need to reach us… During school hours – please ring the school who will pass a message straight on to us. Out of school hours – please contact PGL Liddington (number will be sent to parents)

Returning You can collect your child at 3pm from the playground The office will notify parents of any delay. Bags will be in an area on the playground Please notify a member of staff (preferably their group leader) when you collect your child
