Accomplishments Actress Dancing Award Winning Poet

Personal Life Born on April 4, 1928 in St. Louis Missouri Was a teen mother Calypso Dancer Won 3 Grammys Was married to Paul Du Feu Died on May 28, 2014 in Winston-Salem, NC

My Opinions My opinion of Maya Angelou is that she was a very remarkable woman, what she did when she was alive still affects those alive today. She was very involved with civil rights movements and looked up to Martin Luther King Jr. He influenced her to stand strong in what she had believed in. Maya was a teen mother and still got to where she wanted to go, she was a dancer, an actress and an Award-Winning Poet. Her poetry was well known because it hit close to home with majority of the people who read it. What was so special about it was she put her journeys and difficulties that she and all the people who surrounded her into words
