4. Life As Maya Angelou Maya Angelou, born April 4,1920 as Marguerite Johnson in St. Louis. Dr. Angelou speaks four different languages and has a career in dance. She lectures throughout the US and abroad is Reynolds professor of American Studies at Wake Forest University in North Carolina since 1981. Angelou’s has many great accomplishments worldwide.

7. In Conclusion.. I found Maya Angelou to be very inspirational in my life. She constantly encourages everyone to strive to the best they can be. She also strongly supports her black heritage. I admire that she was the first female poet to give a reading at a Presidential Inauguration.
