4 More accomplishments Not only was she a major part and influence of show business today but Lucy was also awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1989 after she passed.

5 Lucy the Leader Lucy broke the glass ceiling as a:
Woman Television star An a advocate for interracial couples. Despite being told she wouldn’t make it in show business because she was shy. But she followed her passion and became a national treasure and one of the most beloved actresses ever.
