CMI Ambassadors Mini Case Studies 2016-2017

STUDENT AMBASSADOR Helen Wang UAL Fashion Business School CMI Student Ambassador Helen is currently a second year student studying a five year integrated MSc in International Fashion Management including an Industrial Placement Year which will be taken at EY in Management Consulting. Alongside her studies, she has interned at various companies ranging from the shopping app Depop to the buying office at House of Fraser, exercising the management and business skills accumulated from her academic studies in fast- paced and professional environments. As a CMI Ambassador, she enjoys helping students to understand and utilise the valuable resources and research that can be found on Management Direct, and promoting CMI events to encourage students to network and expand their knowledge of other industries. STUDENT AMBASSADOR Zofia Martin UAL Fashion Business School CMI Student Ambassador Zofia is a 2nd year student studying International Fashion Management (Integrated MSc). She studied English Language, Maths, Business Studies and Fashion & Textiles at A-level resulting in her achieving grades in the top 3% of her college. During the first year, Zofia acted as Managing Director for a start-up business selling festival apparel which, on completion, won an award for the best entrepreneurial project for her university year. Since then, a recent trip to India inspired Zofia to set up a new business importing textile goods. In addition to this, Zofia recently completed an internship at Diesel and received two promotions to become Beauty Specialist during her employment at Topshop. Zofia is excited to boost student awareness on the great opportunities that CMI has to offer; from career support via Management Direct to educational, networking events organised every month. STUDENT AMBASSADOR Lisette Arnold UAL Fashion Business School CMI Student Ambassador Lisette is a B.A (Hons) Fashion Management student at London College of Fashion, UAL. She completed her German A-levels in Germany in Business studies, Economics, Spanish, English and Maths. Currently a second year student, she also takes the role of being a student  representative for her course. She joined CMI and became a student ambassador, as she saw the potential benefit of being a CMI member for her future career. Previously she has interned for various fashion companies in London, Berlin and Sri Lanka. She was able to adapt to the different work cultures through gaining management and leadership skills throughout her course, supported with the CMI management direct. Lisette Arnold

STUDENT AMBASSADOR Victoria Stace UAL Fashion Business School CMI Student Ambassador Victoria is a 2nd year student studying Fashion Management BA (Hons). Having recently gained a placement at Ralph Lauren, she will be working in their merchandising department for her 3rd year, undertaking the role of Allocator for UK Menswear outlet stores.   Victoria currently works part time for a retail solutions company called Hydra where she is being mentored by the managing director. Here she embarks on numerous roles such as Freelance Visual Merchandiser for sports and outdoor wear brands as well as recruiting for 5 countries as Hydra continues to expand internationally. This has given her the opportunity to travel overseas training new recruits in Madrid and Strasbourg. In Victoria’s spare time she also interns at an up-and-coming women’s fashion magazine called MAGNIFY assisting with the smooth running of events and workshops. Victoria is very excited to be working alongside the CMI to promote the benefits of the partnership and show students all that the CMI has to offer. Victoria Stace

STUDENT AMBASSADOR Vanessa Dafiaghor UAL Fashion Business School CMI Student Ambassador Vanessa is a 3rd year MSc international Fashion Management student at London college of fashion. She comes from a retail management background where she has worked for companies like UGG, House of Fraser and French connection, during this time she gained practical management experience managing teams of up to 27 people. Previously Vanessa has participated in numerous fashion related projects such as styling, fashion events and fashion businesses; her highlights are working with UK artist, Fuse ODG on his tour and starting a successful eco friendly accessory business project called Revive. Vanessa currently works in Marketing and PR alongside her studies. Vanessa Dafiaghor
