Global Language Not required to graduate 2 years (2 levels) of the same language required for admission to some colleges (UW-Madison) College graduation requirement may be met in high school Retroactive credits

English Year-long classes (pick one): English 11--similar to Eng. 9 & 10 American Lit Both are very rigorous, British Lit college-prep classes You need to take either American Lit or British Lit if you want to take AP Literature & Composition as a senior.

English Additional English electives: Writers Workshop (.5 credit) This is an interest-based one-semester class for students interested in creative writing. You may elect it to enhance your curriculum, but you may not take it in place of your year-long English requirement. You may be taken to replace a semester of a failed English class if necessary.

Project Lead the Way(PLTW) PLTW is a program that applies engineering, science, math, and technology through a project-based, hands-on approach to solve complex, open-ended problems in a real-world context. Students focus on the process of defining and solving a problem, not on getting the “right” answer. They learn how to apply STEM knowledge, skills, and habits of mind to make the world a better place through innovation.

Credit Requirement All students must enroll in 7 credits (7.5 if you choose jazz ensemble or vocal jazz)

IMPORTANT See your school counselor if you’d like help selecting your classes for next year. Make sure you register for required classes if you failed any this year or last year. You will have the opportunity to input your selections into Skyward in study hall on Jan. 25 and 30. You must turn in your course selection sheet at that time.

Scheduling You may also enter your selections into Skyward online on your own after Jan. 13. Instructions will be on the school’s website. Please make sure to turn your course selection sheet in to the guidance office, or turn it in with the others on the day your study hall inputs their selections.
