REGISTRATION OF VACANCIES Registration of job vacancies at the ESS and their publication at the ESS or by the employer is obligatory for employers in Slovenia (exceptions). Transparency on the LM - good overview of employers needs, also for planning our activities, programmes, career guidance Maintaining contact with all employers All citizens have the same access to vacancies Employers publish vacancies which are “already taken!” Another bureaucratic barrier for employers Regulated by: The Employment relationships act, Labour market regulation act

EMPLOYERS WITH „NEGATIVE REFERENCES“ According to the Labour market regulation act, Employment Service of Slovenia keeps a list of employers who: Have violated labour law provisions Have not paid salaries or obligatory contributions Have violated rights (which arise from employment) of their employees Source of information: Tax administration, Labour Inspectorate, information provided by workers themselves Action: ESS can choose to refuse referrals of registered jobseekers to such an employer.

ACTIVE EMPLOYMENT POLICY (AEP) Series of measures by which the state actively regulates labour market (LM) Basic goal: matching LM demand and supply, reducing structural discrepancies on the LM 4 Measures of AEP Counselling and assistance in job-seeking Training and education (e.g. “on the job” training) Promoting employment and self-employment (subsidies) Programmes to increase social inclusion (e.g. public works, social entrepreneurship) 14

MID – TERM AND LONG –TERM COOPERATION Promotion of professions (“professions of the future”) In cooperation with schools Visits to employers, To maintain or set up cooperation, exchange information on vacancies, learn of employer’s needs, learn of different jobs characteristics and demands.
