Important Dates 31 Oct – 4 Nov – Small Group Counseling Sessions, Careers Awareness Week (SYN) Early Nov – Form 6 Further Studies Guide 2016 by Hok Yau Club Before 1 Dec – Register for a JUPAS account, pay $420, and submit 20 JUPAS choices Before Christmas – complete the rest of the JUPAS application (OEA, SLP, other Academic Results, Music Qualifications, etc.) Official deadline – in January and April

Important Dates End of Dec onwards– JUPAS statistics platform by HKACMGM available in the school library 2 Dec – 23 May – Update JUPAS program choices ($80 per submission) 13 June onwards – Check allocated time slot for modifying of JUPAS choices (13 –15 July) Before & after 12 July – Admission interviews Early July – Prospect Guide by Hok Yau Club Before 12 July – Pre-DSE Result Release Talk 12 July – Release of HKDSE results

Choosing 20 JUPAS Programs Process of Elimination Not taking the compulsory subjects No interest (read Short Description) at all (would rather do an Associate Degree or Higher Diploma program) Impossible to get in (even at your best, you are still very far from the lower quartile or the lowest mark last year.)

Choosing 20 JUPAS Programs What Programs to Include Very interested (read Short Description) At least two broad types of programs (e.g. engineering and science, business and engineering, business and social science, social science and education, etc.) Programs of a range of admission scores (e.g. some “dream” programs, mostly “realistic” programs, some “safe” programs)

Choosing 20 JUPAS Programs Other points to note Don’t just choose HKU, CU, UST Don’t just apply through JUPAS. Apply through E-APP and get a couple of conditional offers before 12 July. Don’t just consider Hong Kong. Every year, some SPC students do not get a JUPAS offer.
