38 Sequence Remarks The participating-institutions only have a general idea of how you rank your programme choices. They do not have access to your actual rank list. Your preferences are made known to the participating-institutions in the form of 5 bands. What the institutions see (in numerical order only) Actually Priority JS6004 JS1001 Band A JS1001 Band A JS4018 JS4018 JS6004 JS3005 JS2014 Band B JS2014 Band B JS3005 JS6015 JS6015

Availability of interviews

40 Sequence Rank the programmes which you prefer most and require interviews top the list before 23 May Amend the priority to ensure an offer you would like to accept on Jul Aim high in A1 Play safe in A3

41 New arrangements of JUPAS
During your allocated time-slot after the release of DSE result Students can REPLACE up to 5 programme choices on the selection lists with new programmes / ADD a maximum of 5 new programmes to the original choices (as long as the total number of programme choices does not exceed 20)

42 Strategies after DSE Result release
Band A Step 1: Replace the “Unrealistic options” (Options with too high/low admission score to you) with maximum of 5 programmes you have not chosen before Band B Band E

43 Band A Step 2: Put the “Unrealistic options” (Options with too high admission score to you) to lower bands (e.g. Bands D & E) Band B Band E

44 Ensure an Offer Step 3: Be AMBITIOUS for A1 Be SAFE for A3
Put your Dream Choice you have 30% - 50% chance to get in A1 Risk loving or Risk averse? It’s up to you A2 Band A Put a choice you are likely to get an offer A3 Remarks: Again, the universities DO NOT know your sequence of options within the same banding

45 Step 4: Put the bottom line option at Band B B1
Put the options with lowest admission score among your 20 choices B2 Band B B3 Admission Score: A1 > A2 > A3 > B1 > B2 > B3

50 2. Should I accept the Main Round offer before. submitting
2. Should I accept the Main Round offer before submitting the Reconsideration Request? Accept the Main Round offer only if you wish to NOTE: The Main Round offers are the BEST AND ONLY offers to be made in the same academic year (2017 – 2018) and are of the highest possible priority on their programme choice lists in the case that applicants do not have RR results, or do not receive "better" offers after they have submitted requests for reconsideration of applications based on RR results.

51 What you should do when you want to apply for Reconsideration Request after the release of rechecking and remarking results 1. Move the programme which has been offered in the Main Round to a different position (but not as the first choice). 2. Only programmes placed ABOVE those which applicants have been offered in the Main Round will be reconsidered NOTE: However, applicants are NOT allowed, at this stage, to delete the programmes they have been offered in the Main Round.

52 Before Reconsideration Request:

54 With Reconsideration Request result
