6 ACT Test Information October 28, 2017 next test
Register by September 22 (LATE FEE $27.50) December 9, Register by November 3 Cost $46 Register at Tests you in math, English, reading & science Highest score is a 36 composite-average is 22 Really good ACT scores range from 27-30s

7 SAT Test Information November 4, 2017 Next Test
Register by October 5, 2017 Cost $46, $60 with Essay Register at Tests students in math, critical reading, language A perfect score is a 1600 which is math + critical reading only. A good score is a 1220 and above on math + critical reading. (A 1220 is the equivalent of a 27 on ACT)

NCAA Requirements 2.0 GPA / 2.3 and below is redshirting SAT/ACT – online guide (lower your GPA the higher your scores need to be) NCAA clearinghouse Must register on-line Must send ACT and SAT scores directly to the clearinghouse Code for sending 9999 Will want to go over course work with counselor to make sure you are taking correct courses for NCAA and other requirements Send transcripts COUNSELOR SHOULD BE YOUR BEST FRIEND

Naviance Scholarship tab updated often Check scholarship board in career center often Join our “Remind” texting program (later slide) Check Admission pages of the colleges you wish to attend Try websites on handout Look for scholarships through your church or parent’s jobs Check with Civic organizations-Lions Club, Rotary Club, etc.

18 How do I get a letter of recommendation
Create a resume or brag sheet Ask teacher or counselor verbally to write the letter Make sure to give them the resume Give them a stamped envelope if needed and other information needed for task Make sure to give the teacher plenty of time to write the letter at least 2 weeks, but 4-6 weeks are ideal. Time will vary by teacher.
