What is DreamOn? DreamOn is a group for students from all disciplines. DreamOn aims to address the gender bias in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields by: increasing visibility of female scientists/technicians/engineers/mathematicians connecting elementary and middle school students with STEM activities showing participants that they can enjoy, understand, participate and excel in scientific activities and endeavors providing a network for female graduate students, faculty members, and professionals mentoring younger students, from elementary school through high school and college

Why DreamOn? “Although the fraction of degrees awarded to women at the master’s (23 percent) and doctoral (21.2 percent) levels is at an all-time high, the percentage of women receiving bachelor’s degrees declined again for the seventh consecutive year. The 17.8 percentage of engineering bachelor’s degrees awarded to women in 2009 is the lowest since 1995.” -Michael T. Gibbons, Engineering by the Numbers Engineering Bachelor’s Degrees by Gender, 2009
