2 What is O∆K? The Omicron Delta Kappa Society is the national leadership honor society for college students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni that recognizes and encourages superior scholarship, leadership, and exemplary character. Membership in ODK is a mark of the highest distinction and honor. Omicron Delta Kappa recognizes and encourages achievement in scholarship; athletics; campus or community service, social and religious activities, and campus government; journalism, speech, and the mass media; creative and performing arts.

3 Why was I sent an invitation to apply?
JUNIOR OR SENIOR STANDING-COMPLETING OF 60 SEMESTER HOURS BY THE END OF FALL SEMESTER 2015. MINIMUM OF 3.10 CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGE (TOP 35%) BY THE END OF FALL SEMESTER 2015.

4 Am I Now a member of O∆K? Must have filled out application on Applicants must demonstrate outstanding leadership and scholarship to be selected Application notifications will be sent Wednesday, Feb. 24 Once selected, must pay $95 membership fee

5 Why should I apply? In college, O∆K provides:
After college, O∆K provides: Networking Leadership development training and resources Career help Chance to serve campus community Honor Discounts & promotions International networking of alumni Leadership training Nat’l Convention & meetings ODK faculty secretary or advisor Leadership development in ODK National

8 “Active Membership” ACTIVE members will receive Certificate of Active Membership at Initiation Ceremony on March 17, 2016 August 2015 until March 13, 2016 To receive certificate, students must attend: At least one mass meeting At least one social event At least two service events (at least 10 service hours logged on TigerZone can serve as substitute)

9 “Active Initiate” Prospective members who applied to ODK, are notified of acceptance, and attain criteria below will receive “Active Initiate” certificate at Initiation Ceremony on March 17, 2016 From application invitation to March 13, 2016 To receive certificate, students must attend: At least one mass meeting At least one social event At least two service events (at least 10 service hours logged on TigerZone can serve as substitute)

Friday, Feb. 7pm, UC Ballroom Hosted by NAACP and the Office of Multicultural Affairs  Black tie event that honors influential leaders in the community as well as on campus Free of charge Please notify Lisa Wang if you will be attending

14 David Collins Scholarship
Eligible members must be applying to graduate school or be current graduate students at U of M for Fall 2016 The David A. Collins O∆K Scholarship is a competitive award presented to an Omicron Delta Kappa member who will be beginning their graduate work or continuing their graduate work at the University of Memphis in the fall. It seeks to recognize members who exemplify the chapter's values of leadership and scholarship. Applications for the scholarship are accepted each spring. To submit your application, use the University of Memphis Scholarship application site, Tiger Scholarship Manager.

15 Testimonials Need students to volunteer to provide their picture and short testimonial for U of M O∆K website Testimonial should be 1-4 sentences and answer one or more of these questions: (1)  Why is being an O∆K member important to you? (2)  How has being a member of O∆K helped further your academics and future? (3)  Why should others strive to be in O∆K ?
