How to get GLOBALG.A.P. Certified

NOW ISN’T THE TIME TO THINK ABOUT FOOD SAFETY

FOOD CHAIN

Standards and stages in the food chain-Farm to Fork

What is GlobalGAP ? The GlobalGAP Integrated Farm Assurance is documented into separated different modules each one covering separate areas or levels of activity on a production site. These sections are grouped into; Scopes: covering more generic production issues, classified more broadly as- All Farm Base, Crops Based, Livestock base and Aquaculture Base

SCOPES Crops Base Fruit & Vegetable Flowers & Ornamentals Combinable Crops Green Coffee Tea Others Livestock Base (Ruminant Base) Cattle & Sheep Dairy Pigs Poultry / Calf – Young Beef

SCOPES Aquaculture Base Finfish Molluscs Crustaceans Others Other Plant Propagation Material Compound Feed Manufacturing Chain of Custody GRASP NZG.A.P. FLOREVERDE Uruguay Natural Meat Scheme ThaiG.A.P

Milestones GLOBALG.A.P.’s roots began in 1997 as EUREPGAP Paris1999  Seventeen retailers decide to introduce an independent verification system as a base for supplier compliance.  Barcelona 2000  EurepGAP establishes the partnership principle between retailers and producers and presents trial results of its Fruit and Vegetables Protocol. EUREPGAP changed its name to GLOBALG.A.P. in 2007. GLOBALG.A.P. today is the world's leading farm assurance program,

SCOPES

Why GLOBALG.A.P. Certificate As consumers and customers demand for high quality and safe food is constantly increasing, the challenge for farmers and farmer groups is to keep up with the standards of safety. Today GlobalGAP certification is required by a considerable number of retailers, especially supermarkets. But it offers also a great chance for farmer groups to introduce sustainable agricultural practices based on integrated crop and pest management principles.
