Dressing and grooming for interviews Dressing Your Best to Impress

Dressing Right For The Interview “You never get a second chance to make a first impression.” Take the extra time to make your appearance perfect. For an interview you have to dress professional. Make sure that the clothes you wear to an interview have been freshly cleaned and are free of wrinkles. Check to see that none of the shirt buttons are missing and no other repairs are needed. The first impression you make on the interviewer is going be an important factor in deciding whether or not you will get the job. He/she will pay attention to how you look just as much as what you say or what experience you might bring to the job.

fragrance While smelling good is always a plus, make sure that you do not drench yourself in cologne as it can have a detrimental effect.

Make up A little goes a long way. Let your inner beauty shine through by using neutral tones in small amounts.

Jewelry When it comes to jewelry, simplicity is the way to go. Wearing a lot of ornaments makes you look unprofessional and is distracting for the interviewer. A simple watch and a small pair of earrings is enough.

Body art Tattoos should not show during an interview. Find out the company policy on whether they may be exposed during daily work.

Appropriate accessories A SMALL PURSE IS APPROPRIATE, BUT A BRIEFCASE IS MOST APPROPRIATE FOR BOTH MEN AND WOMEN BACKPACKS ARE NOT SUGGESTED

Final words When you are all dressed up and about to leave for the interview, make sure that you check yourself in the mirror from head to toe so that if something is amiss you can fix it before leaving.
