Charging Station for Electric cars with 60-75 DC power Development of modern charging station for electric cars and organizing its mass production PJSC “ELMIZ” – 2016

PROJECT GOAL AND AIMS: - Electric cars chargers infrastructure development in Kyiv and Ukraine; - Improving ecology in Kyiv City and reducing greenhouse gas emissions; - Promoting electric transportation; - Active participation in the new global market; - Increasing income, profit, and taxes payments;   Additional results: - Drastic increase of power network efficiency due to the usage of controlled load distribution; - Peak load balancing due to compensation of night time decrease of power networks’ load; - Development of intellectual infrastructure according to EV demands (Smart Charging). Project realization planned on: March 2016 – December 2018

ELECTRIC CARS MARKET TODAY An electric car is an automobile that is propelled by one or more electric motors, using electrical energy stored in rechargeable batteries or another energy storage device. By the end of 2016 the number of electric cars will exceed 1.26 mn, and by 2020 their number will reach 20 mn After 8 months of 2016 the number of imported electric cars reached 1550, whereas in 2015 it equaled 731, and 95 in 2014.

CHARGING STATION Electric vehicle charging station is an electric device for charging electric car batteries according to specific programs   According to Pike Research & Frost & Sullivan about 2 mn of charging stations will be selling by 2017. Average increase rate of charging stations market equals 86%

Charging station developed by PJSC ELMIZ PJSC ELMIZ has developed and is planning for mass production a new dual-standard charging station of 60-75 kW capacity with the option of 3-phase 22 kW AC charging These stations are designed for speed charging specifically. Their high capacity enables electric transport to be charged under 30 min. The stations allow gradual (1-2 seconds) increase of current in the initial phase of charging, and gradual decrease of current in the end of charging process. This allows to charge an electric vehicle battery for 100% without damaging the batteries.

Possible use Electric vehicle 75 kW direct current chargers are designed to create the charging network for commercial use with a single control center, mainly: - a medium sized network consisting of a small number of stations in a single locality - urban or regional network of stations organized after conventional gas stations pattern; - the highway network of chargers placed along main highways; - interregional network of charging stations. Apart from that, potential customers may also be represented by hotels, business centers, restaurants, trading or sporting centers, local authorities etc.
