Use Moodle to help study and prepare for Unit Tests

Learning Targets are in study guide format. We will do them in class as we go. My Powerpoint notes are on Moodle for review or when absent for updating.

I will need parent volunteers to help with the Trip to the Stream at Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve in the spring… Date to be determined – May?? I will need 2-3 parents to help unload my car and carry bins of materials to the stream site, from the parking area at 7:30 until about 8 AM. If they can stay for the first 1.5 hours and help that’s even better. (7:30 AM-9:30AM) A parent to ride the bus each way for each class ( if possible) and stay to help out At least 2-3 parents to “man the stations” and keep an eye on everyone! ( about 1.5 hours each shift for each class) 10 AM-11:30 AM and 12:30-2 PM Parents who volunteer for the last class are also needed to help pack up materials and carry them back to my car. Also: Donations of Kleenex and hand sanitizer are VERY WELCOME!

Expectations and Details on Syllabus

Extra Help— I am available before school, or at C lunch if arrangements are made. I am also easily reached via if you have a question. My address is Please put your last name and hour in the subject line!! I tell students “Do not leave class confused! I am happy to help you!”

Conferences are not needed for all students. Time is limited. If there is a concern or need for a plan of action, please bring your child to conferences with you. This makes the time more effective when we can sit down together and discuss issues. If you are informed about how your child is doing in my class and have no questions/concerns, then a conference isn’t necessary. *Every 5 weeks a interim or grade report is available. *Twice a week you may receive a MYRCS update if you sign up. *In between, the MYRCS.com site has current grades and notes.

*Allow your child to take responsibility for their work and learning. *Encourage them to approach me if they have questions or concerns. *Refrain from helping TOO MUCH – If you are looking for a great parenting book try the Love and Logic series by Jim Fay and Foster Cline. ** I wish I had read it 10 years earlier !**
