Retail sector An array of 70 malls and hundreds of other outlets caters to a domestic market of more than four million residents and 15 million visitors annually. The UAE ranked 7 th in the Global Retail Development Index for 2015 Market expected to reach Dh200 billion by 2017, growing by 5% on average each year. Fujairah Statistics Centre Hospitality activity According to Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), of the hundreds of thousands of people employed in the hospitality sector, an estimated 3160 are Emiratis (as of 2014).
