Retail sector An array of 70 malls and hundreds of other outlets caters to a domestic market of more than four million residents and 15 million visitors annually. The UAE ranked 7 th in the Global Retail Development Index for 2015 Market expected to reach Dh200 billion by 2017, growing by 5% on average each year. The number of malls and retail shops is expected to continue to grow, with the expansion of the tourism industry.

Expo 2020 Dubai is likely to create 277,000 jobs the number of tourists in Dubai to reach 20 million people Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing The Emiratisation Task Force was formed in 2002 to build awareness of career opportunities within the hospitality sector “START” vocational training programme for UAE nationals to work in the hospitality and tourism sectors aims to increase the number of Emiratis working in the sector by 15% a year until 2020 in accordance with the Tourism Vision Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority Khibrati programme gives Emirati students part-time jobs in the hospitality sector while they continue their studies programme that trains students to work in hotels.
