Weebly ePortfolios: Getting Started Tech Tuesday March 15, 2016

Gauging my Audience  How many of you are familiar with ePortfolios?  How many of you would describe yourselves as “tech savvy?”  How many of you have used Weebly or similar platforms to build websites?

Weebly Pros - Beginners  5MB storage  Easy to use platform with many templates and free access to non-copyrighted images  Five free sites  Set up pages from any page of ePortfolio  Hide site from search engines  Revive deleted pages and sites with support

Weebly Pros - Advanced  “Drag & drop” widgets (widget for: YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, Google+, Pinterest, Vimeo, etc. )  Public poll with Polldaddy widget, public forums, and public survey with on-page questions  Create block quotes without change of fonts or styles  Feed reader to stream other sites (news, blogs, posts, etc.)

Weebly Cons  Does not pair well with Internet Explorer  Can limit design freedom  Some templates may force all CAPS  Doesn’t password protect pages for free  Limits storage space if you're using a lot of high resolution photos (to avoid this, consider Jimdo or Wix instead)
