Alma enjoys academic work! June 2013 Updates: Alma enjoys academic work! Alma is highly motivated to do her academic work!

Alma loves tracing letters in Hebrew and finding hidden pictures (left).

She has been highly interested in learning to read and write in Hebrew and is an excellent student.

Alma also discovered the library computers. We started going regularly to the library in Penrith. At first I was in charge of choosing books for Alma (as you could probably guess from the titles...). Alma also discovered the library computers.

Alma really enjoyed this write and wipe maths book Alma really enjoyed this write and wipe maths book. This is how I discovered she recognizes all the numbers up to 10 well, has started to recognize numbers over 10, and can draw lines to connect items without getting lost on the page! Lots of exciting developments!

She has improved a lot in tracing numbers.

Doing simple addition and subtraction sums with her sister – good fun!

Despite being very hard on herself about colouring in, I think she does a good job for her age!

Alma enjoyed trying out all the activities in the Dora magazine

Alma can do dot-to-dot and maze activities

To keep her engaged for a longer time with the worksheets (otherwise she just whizzes through them extra quickly) we did some more activities like stamping and sorting colours after completing a dot-to-dot worksheet.

I wish she could give her sister a course in self motivation... I gave Alma a preschool workbook (for ages 3-5) and she did 28 pages in one sitting! I tried to stop her a few times but she protested and declared “But I love it!” I wish she could give her sister a course in self motivation...

In our next presentation: More of the sticker book obsession!
