A) What is it? Our lesson plan is a concept of the lesson, our aims and purposes and what we hope the students will achieve. We try to work out specifically what key the target language will be and what is the best method of achieving it is. B) How do we make it? We have an initial discussion about the topic - brainstorming ideas. The most important thing is deciding the aims of the class. Because the class depends on the aims. Make a detailed lesson plan, worksheet/s or activity to go with the lesson and the textbook. Discuss what problems the students might have and our specific roles during the class. Lesson Plan

C) What is warm up, development and consolidation / closing? Warm up is simply a method to get the student attention, a way to get them relaxed and ready. Development is introducing the topic (if not done already) by using the textbook and completing various tasks such as reading and listening, role plays and dialogue practice. The consolidation is the reinforcement of the target language or topic.

A) How we incorporate the textbook into the lesson. All our classes follow the school textbook curriculum. We use the textbook as a base for the lesson and then build worksheets and materials around the book. B) Teaching Content Usually we teach Let's Talk 1,2 and Dialogue over a 3 week period. We always use the example dialogue on each page as this contains the target language, topic and key expressions that we want to teach. Once students understand the topic we move onto Part 1. Usually there are 3 examples and we get the students to practice in pairs. After the development stage we introduce a worksheet, activity, game or video etc. Text book

Activities Activities are an excellent method for the students to expand their knowledge and practice everything they have learnt. Some examples we use: Individual / group spelling Hot Seat Picture drawing Boggle Sentence racing Scrabble Making stories / Cartoons Memory Games Monopoly Word Up Guess Who Twenty Questions Interactive web sites and web quests

A) When to use? Usually we use worksheets after the development stage. Worksheets should be limited to 1 or 2 only (usually 1) otherwise the students will feel pressured and overwhelmed. Worksheets are a time for students to practice, teachers only help when needed. B) What content? It must be suitable to their age and level and of course relevant to the days topic. The worksheet must be simple and visually attractive Students must be able to look at the worksheet and think "Maybe I can do this, it doesn't look so bad". We try to make the students feel that the worksheet is "Doable". C) Examples Some examples: Worksheets

Teachers A) Our Roles Before class and during the making of the lesson plan we discuss what each teacher has to do during the lesson. Together we present examples and sample role plays and we also circulate the class together during the consolidation stage, helping and assisting the students when needed. We keep the translation to a minimum B) Discipline and Control In our classes we share a lot of the discipline and control. Our co-teachers will always have overall control of the class but if there are small problems we both try solve the issue.

Special Needs Students A) How teachers can relate to students We try to be more relaxed and friendly to special need students. They need care, love and patience. Don't push them too hard or make them finish. Give them responsibilities such as controlling the computer. B) Materials We make worksheets for special needs students that often have nothing to do with the days topic. Colouring pictures and matching exercises. Writing and tracing, dot to dot exercises, simple spelling worksheets, phonics, drawing, basic math (which students love). The special needs students should be given every opportunity to learn English too. Some examples:
