THE MODERATOR PACKET  This will be given to you at registration  It will consist of 2 important papers  Moderator Instructions for P.A.C.E.® Approved Programs  Moderator Script and Speaker Bio (on yellow paper)

MODERATOR INSTRUCTIONS FOR P.A.C.E. ® APPROVED PROGRAMS  Outlines exactly what you need to do and when to do it.  Contains the session code that is announced at the END of the session

EXAMPLE INSTRUCTIONS

KEY POINTS ON INSTRUCTION SHEET You have 3 very important jobs  To make sure the speaker has everything they need and are introduced properly and professionally.  To make sure the session stays on schedule-starts and ends on time  Signaling when 5 minutes are left is a good idea.  If the speaker goes over, it causes attendees to be late for their next session and any session that is coming into that same room to be delayed  To make sure the participants get the session code to obtain credit

MODERATOR SCRIPT AND SPEAKER BIO  This is an exact script for you to read and may consist of the following parts:  Announcements-each session will have brief announcements about CE Organizer, electronic evaluations, and a request to mute cell phones.  Sponsorship information (only some sessions will have this)  Financial Disclosure information (most sessions will not have this)  Speaker Bio

MODERATOR SCRIPT AND SPEAKER BIO Please read this paper as it is written unless a speaker has asked you to modify something in their biographical information

MODERATOR SCRIPT AND SPEAKER BIO-ANNOUNCEMENTS This year’s announcements contain the following information:  How to obtain your P.A.C.E.® certificate  How to evaluate the session  Instruction to turn off your cell phone

MODERATOR SCRIPT AND SPEAKER BIO-ANNOUNCEMENTS EXAMPLE

MODERATOR SCRIPT AND SPEAKER BIO-SPONSORSHIP INFORMATION  Only some sessions will have this information.  If your session is sponsored it will look similar to the example below:

MODERATOR SCRIPT AND SPEAKER BIO-FINANCIAL DISCLOSURES  Very few sessions will have a financial disclosure.  If your session has a financial disclosure it will look similar to the example below:

MODERATOR SCRIPT AND SPEAKER BIO-SPEAKER BIO  A speaker bio has been included in your packet.  Please verify with the speaker that nothing needs changed. Some speakers provide a very comprehensive bio, whereas others do not.  The speaker bio will be similar to bio below:

AT THE END OF THE SESSION  Ask for questions if time permits.  Remind attendees to use the online survey link to evaluate today’s sessions  Give session code (listed on instruction sheet).  Thank speaker and begin applause.
