WHAT IS CANVAS? A secure, online portal for students and teachers Features: Assignments Modules Collaboration Spaces Calendar Also allows parents to receive assignment alerts right to their or mobile devices

CANVAS: THE STUDENT EXPERIENCE

A Note from the Main Office: Grade reports will not be mailed home this year. Parents and students will need to access IC for this information and for mid-trimester grade reports. If you do not have internet access, you can call the school office, and a report card will be printed.

FYI - Standards Based Reporting 6 th grade teachers at both Kennedy and Lincoln are piloting SBR in the school year. The field test will determine next steps. District 203 has provided overview materials on the website under the ‘Assessment and Analytics’ tab about SBR.

District 203 believes in a student-centered environment that will spark imagination and curiosity through inquiry-driven investigations and inspire critical interpretation of science information. Students will actively participate in science and engineering practices to understand the core ideas and connections between physical, Earth and space, and life science, and to understand, use, and interpret scientific explanations of natural phenomena. Students will be empowered to draw, share, and defend conclusions based on evidence and design solutions that can be applied to the world around them.
