4 6th Grade Math In Grade 6, the Common Core standards state that instructional time should focus on five critical areas: connecting ratio and rate to whole number multiplication and division and using concepts of ratio and rate to solve problems; completing understanding of division of fractions and extending the notion of number to the system of rational numbers, which includes negative numbers; writing, interpreting, and using expressions and equations; and developing understanding of statistical thinking.

5 6th Grade Reading In Grade 6, the Common Core standards state that instructional time should focus on five critical areas: connecting real life experiences to the text and using textual evidence to support answers completing understanding of central idea, key details, author’s craft, text structure and ancient civilization writing, interpreting, and using expressions and writing for various purposes developing understanding of critical thinking.

Always follow directions and procedures Respect everyone and everything In addition to the rules, Murray Language Academy is a CHAMPS school.  The CHAMPS acronym stands for "Conversation, Help, Activity, Movement, and Participation." Each major classroom genre of activity or transition has a CHAMPS procedure associated with to help students know and understand what the teacher expects of them.  We will be reinforcing this program and its elements during the first several weeks of school and will expect full adherence to this program by all students. Include your class rules on this slide

12 Behavior Management System
Each student is expected to follow the rules of the classroom and school. Consequences for misbehavior are: 1st warning- redirect 2nd warning- redirect 3rd warning- reflection Contact Parent Rewards: Students will earn incentives for displaying positive behavior, turning in homework, and attendance. A raffle will be held every other Friday, sometimes more often.
