It is VERY important that all students know their basic facts for computation. A lot of our math curriculum requires basic math facts to be mastered for a successful year.
This website is a great tool to use to help practice facts and print out flashcards for free!

I will use the Basal as well as fun literature. I will alternate. Lots of group work as well as independent study.

18. Guided Reading Groups
Your child will be placed in a guided reading group each semester.
Students will work collaboratively and individually to show comprehension and to discuss and debate ideas about the book using guided questions.

19. Vocabulary
This year we will focus on Latin Roots and words taken from the literature we are reading.
The words will be challenging.
Increasing vocabulary knowledge helps students be better readers.
Vocabulary will be tested regularly throughout the year.
