About S.O.F.I.A. Start Out Fresh Intervention Advocates (fondly referred to as S.O.F.I.A.) is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization that provides advocacy, supportive services and referrals for temporary housing to women and children overcoming domestic violence. Our mission is to empower domestic violence victims and survivors to become self-sufficient, positive and successful. The S.O.F.I.A. Success Center is now open, a healing and wellness facility. We are currently seeking contributions to develop The S.O.F.I.A. SAFE House for domestic violence victims, which will offer housing and services for emotional healing. 2

S.O.F.I.A.’s IMPACT Since its inception, S.O.F.I.A.’s workshops and outreach events have been presented to more than 2,800 individuals. Throughout , 307 women attended our workshops and programs; 700 middle school, high school, college students and Planned Parenthood clients attended our outreach workshops; 48 children and their caregivers participated in our Superhero workshop; 40 women attended our support group or were counseled; and 56 families benefitted from our toy distribution in local shelters during the holidays. 15 of our volunteers and staff have become certified Domestic Violence Response Team Members that serve the community. 3

Our Core Values We value integrity for each individual as unique and inherently worthwhile. Our goal is to build inner peace, independence, security and self assurance with our clients. We value the rights of victims to make life decisions based on being fully informed of all their legal rights and options. We value the growth of our clients. We will commit to overseeing continuous personal improvement, encourage clear and constant focus and will help guide towards self-sufficiency.
