FAQ Webinar Call for Proposals Call toll-free: (local: ) Participant code: # Webinar Dates: August 11 – August 25 – August 31

Agenda ▪FAQs for each project area ▪Budgets and fiscal years ▪Finding collaborative partners ▪Nuts and bolts of submission process ▪Your questions 2

Open Content Initiative ▪What is Open Content? Digital course content that can be freely reused, revised, adapted, remixed, redistributed and retained by other institutions ▪Can I leverage existing open textbooks or modules from other institutions or provinces? Yes! Adopting and adapting an existing open textbook or other open content to create a new fully online course would be encouraged! ▪Can I develop an open online module which covers a portion of existing course content? No. This initiative seeks to fund proposals that will have an impact on a complete course. 3

New Program Development ▪What do you mean by ‘program’ in the context of this RFP? A credential. An online minor, for example, is not a complete credential and therefore is not eligible. ▪Are we required to submit additional course development proposals for an achievable set of courses? No. You are only required to submit one proposal but specific course(s) information is required for each course that you plan to develop by March ▪Does a program need to be ready for delivery by March 2018? No. However, if more time and budget is required beyond March 2018 to complete development of the fully online program, the proposal must articulate the institutional plan and commitment to complete the work and deliver the program online. 4

New Course Development ▪Where can I find a list of previously funded course and module projects from the Shared Online Course Fund? The complete list is available on our website under “About – Call for Proposals 2016”on our website ▪eCampusOntario will fund approximately 10 course development projects. How can I help the success of my project? Successful projects in this area will use evidence to make a very strong case for impact, high demand and flexible options for student learning. 5
