MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD SUNDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER 2008 AT 2 CUTLER PARADE NORTH RYDE 1.Meeting opened 10.30am with a welcome by Congregational Chairman Richard Clarke and prayer - Rev Jill Ison. The attendance book was circulated, present 67, apologies 22 and observers 2. 2.The Minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting held 16/9/07 presented by Karen Aubrey. Accepted with amendment – KUCA spelt incorrectly. Moved Barbara Lee, Seconded John Groenewegen.

3.Treasurer’s Report (a)Financial Statements and Treasurer’s Report presented by Jenny Chin for the 2007 – 2008 period. Attention was drawn to the changed format now required by Synod. Thanks given to Ian Puckrin for auditing the accounts. Motion: That the financial report be accepted: Moved Alex Books, Seconded Audrey Wybenga- unanimously accepted. (b)The proposed budget presented in the Annual Report (pg 7 & 8) was presented with thanks given to the Church Council and Property and Finance Committee for assistance given. Income expected: $ , expenditure expected: $ therefore a deficit of $ to be expected. No discussion. Motion: That the budget be adopted: Moved Ken Murray, Seconded Barry Field and carried with a vote of thanks to Jenny Chin ‘Treasurer’, for all her hard work as treasurer.

4.Election of Elders 5.Election of the following Elders: Lee Hooper (2 years), Andrew Forbes (5 years), Max Joyce (2 years), Howard Clark (3 years) Ian Puckrin (2 years). Thanks given to Diana Tocknell and Margaret Joyce for their service as Elders. Thanks given to Pam Ward for preparing ballots and counting votes. 6.Annual Report 7.Motion: To accept the Annual Report Moved Joan Murray, Seconded Max Joyce and carried with a vote of thanks given to Carol Bickerstaff for compiling the Annual Report. 8.Business Arising: a.Rev Chris Ridings sadly resigned from his role as Convenor of Social Responsibility after 10 years of service.

6.Mission Planning – Rev Jill Ison 7.Jill pointed out that there were new areas targeted this year with Youth Ministry, Music and English Conversation high on the agenda. A meeting will be held in a few weeks to discuss further. 8.Other Business – a.Presbytery Consultation Report - recommendations outlined by Jill as per attached report. b.Website – has been functioning well for a number of months now with thanks to the Ward Family: Peter, Geoffrey and Pam. All material to be posted on site please forward to Mark Howard for inclusion. c.Booking Officer – sadly Pam Ward resigned from this position. Nominations were called for unsuccessfully. Max Joyce suggested that the term of service be reduced but Pam felt that we would need someone to commit to at least 12 months. As no one nominated at this stage the congregation was asked to give it prayerful consideration.

Philip Bickerstaff moved a vote of thanks to Rev Jill Ison for her dedication to ministry, leadership and pastoral care. Seconded by the whole congregation with much applause. 8.Meeting closed in prayer by Rev Jill Ison at 10.55am.
