World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) - a specialized agency of the United ‎ Nations (UN) and the leading international organization in the field of tourism. MISSION AND OBJECTIVES MISSION OBJECTIVES -Implement the UNWTO Programme of Work -Reinforce the Members relation -Strengthen the Public-private partnership (PPP) within the Africa Region -Enhance the Capacity building -Promotion of the Africa’s image and tourism branding Support and assist forty-nine UNWTO African Members and other stakeholders from their region in their efforts to develop their tourism industry as a catalyst for sustainable economic and social development. Travel Advice and the Internet Travel advice started to change in the mid 90‘s Aims in first instance at tourists and secondly at tourism organizations Increasing constantly in importance So far mainly focus on travel advice, less on event information

Georeferenced Information and the Internet Start of Google maps in 2005 Constantly increasing High importance for travel, tourism and emergency information

Naming New Human Infectious Diseases

The Toolbox Structured and written in a generic manner Ready to use in the 5 official languages Includes templates, checklists and samples

Licence Agreement Members are invited to customize the Toolbox to increase its relevance even further Licence agreement is free of charge

Development UNWTO provides Word template, as well as original layout Use of standard UNWTO cover UNWTO and logo of Ministry on the front cover Dissemination to agreed audiences
