“THE CRASH”

Survey the Scene Called 911 Noticed 3 individuals around the boat 2 on land, 1 in the water under the propeller 1on land was conscious and walking around, The other was not breathing but had a pulse Performed the ABC’s of First Aid After checking to see if the scene was safe Helped victims in order of severity

Unconscious Victim Not breathing but with a pulse Checked Airway- Noticed it was clogged and there were M&M’s on the boat. Victim must be choking on them Positioned Victim for Abdominal Thrusts

Victim under the Prop Noticed large lacerations on victim’s head and blood flowing from head Asked victim if they were OK- they said they felt nausecious, and were breathing fast Checked pulse- very weak Treated Victim for shock and an open wound

Shock Gently got victim out of water Layed them on the bank with feet raised on a log Got a blanket from my boat and kept victim warm Continued to check ABC’s

Open wound While victim was on the ground I put pressure on the wound to stop bleeding I took my shirt and wrapped it around the boys head

Sudden Change While administering first aid to the victims, the conscious person collapsed. Checked ABC’s. All signs were positive, assumed victim fainted due to lack of oxygen to the brain Treated like the shock victim
