How to say long numbers L195 Unit 5 Attività 5.5
Long numbers are compound words made up of several individual elements joined together. In order to say them properly, you will have to remember that each element keeps its original stress so there are several stressed syllables rather than just one. For example: mille (1000) milleduecentotrenta 1230 duecento (200) trenta (30)
Compound words have a syllable with primary stress (the syllable where the main stress falls, usually the one closer to the end of the word) and syllables with secondary stress (the syllables where the stress originally fell when the elements were separate) milleduecentotrenta
1230 mille (1000) duecento (200) trenta (30) milleduecentotrenta Let’s say it together one more time.
