Educate Magis – Executive Summary Magis is a Latin word for ‘more’. To the Jesuit mind, ‘magis’ suggests striving to be the best one can be, to do more, to contribute fully, to go deeper. Educate Magis is a new project with a mission to create a vibrant online community, connecting educators from the more than 2,000 Jesuit and Ignatian schools around the world. the site went live in April 2015 This online community aims to open a new way of proceeding for our schools and enable them to collaborate in solidarity as a global community, to better serve our mission in forming a faith that does justice.

Early Jesuit Education Communities

Today Educators and students are spending more and more time online. This offers exciting new mission opportunities for us all. Educate Magis is designed to be of help with this new opportunity.

Educate Magis is officially sponsored by the Office of the Secretary for Education of the Society of Jesus in Rome. Come to this session to see how you can connect and collaborate with schools across the world. Hear stories from Africa. Learn from keynote videos in India. Have conversations with Latin and South America. Find schools and contact details in Europe. Collaborate in groups with Asia Pacific. Educate Magis is multi-lingual, mobile and free! “Staff Formation Workshop - How can we help each other?” IEF: Thursday June 23 rd – 11:30am – Alter 004 Staff Formation - Every school in the Jesuit world has to do it! There must be ways we can help each other. Please do come to this workshop to: (i)Briefly explain how staff formation is approached in your school; (ii)Hear how staff formation is managed in other Jesuit schools; (iii)Brainstorm ways we in Jesuit schools across the world can help each other with staff formation; (iv)Hear about an Educate Magis project on Staff Formation; (v)Have the opportunity to join this Educate Magis staff formation project.
